Yeah, there's a risk I won't like the game as much as I think I do, and the logical objective part of my brain is screaming at me that I'd probably be better waiting and buying the regular edition. ![]() If I like this game as much (Which I'm expecting to) I can totally see myself buying each one of these DLC as they come out over the next year. The last game I actually did buy every year of DLC as they came out was Anno 1800. I read the description of the first 4 DLCs and I couldn't come up with 4 better themes, they're all perfect. The problem is that people don't think in that big sweeping mentality, they try to "Pick correctly" in each individual scenario.įor me, yeah I'll get the premium edition. If you never buy extended warranties, the amount you save over your life is greater than the cost you'd pay fixing things that would have been covered under warranty (Failure rate during the first 3 years of a product is about 10-15% across all consumer products). It's kind of like the Extended Warranty formula. The issue is that you don't know whether you will end up doing that, or if you'll get bored in the game in a couple weeks.ĭoing the objective math, it usually isn't worth it. If you would end up buying all 4 DLCs as they come out, then the premium edition is worth it because you save money in the long run.
